Frequently asked questions:
What is Voimainen honey?
The Metsätuvan Voimainen honey is, as its Finnish name suggests, soft and distinctly flavored multi-flower honey!
Easily scoopable and spreadable, Voimainen honey comes from Pirkanmaa, Hämeenkyrö. The honey collected from a single small apiary is given a crystal model from the previous summer's fine-crystallized honey, which allows Voimainen honey to remain soft throughout its entire shelf life.
Is Metsätuvan Voimainen raw honey?
The use of the term raw honey is prohibited by the EU honey regulation, and therefore we do not use that phrase for our honey either.
However, the Metsätuvan honey has not been heated, warmed, or mechanically filtered at any stage of production. The honey has been freely drained through a sieve from the extractor, and any wax particles that have risen to the surface have been removed from its surface while in the container.
After this, the honey is given a crystal model from last summer's soft fine-crystal honey. At this stage, a little more honey from the same apiary is mixed into the freshly extracted honey. Once the honeys have been gently stirred by hand with a paddle for a few days, the honey is jarred and allowed to crystallize into its final velvety form at about 14 degrees Celsius.
You notice that since the honey is not filtered separately, it still contains small amounts of pollen.
How should honey be stored?
Keep honey at room temperature.
The most important thing in honey storage is that it must not get moisture. Therefore, the jar should not be stored in the refrigerator. If there is a need to preserve honey for a long time, it is best to keep it dry and cool.
The honey jar can also be stored in the freezer if desired, as honey does not freeze due to its low water content.
How much does the Villisti valuva - Wildly dripping candle drip?
A lot and everywhere.
The villisti valuva - wildly dripping candle is designed to create plenty of impressive dripping formations. Depending on the width, height, and model of the candle holder you use, wax may drip all the way to its base. So make sure to plant the candle firmly in its holder before lighting it and that the candle holder itself also stands steadily on a non-flammable surface.
You will notice that abundant dripping reduces the burn time of the candle. If you want a crown candle that burns long and drips as little wax as possible around it, choose our classic beeswax candle instead of villisti valuva - wildly dripping.
How long does a concentration candle burn?
One concentration candle burns for about an hour.
If any of the candles burns significantly under an hour, it is usually due to excessive dripping of the wax. This may be caused by the candle being in a drafty place or the candle being placed at an angle.
A straight-standing and calmly burning concentration candle burns for about an hour, sometimes even a little longer.

From a small home apiary
In the yard of a red wooden house in Finland, there are a few joyfully colorful beehives. Their bees collect honey during the summer, which is jarred smooth and velvety in half-kilogram glass jars when autumn arrives.
The collection area includes coniferous forests, fallow fields, birch groves, and lake scenery. The area's annual crops include clover, raspberry, buttercups, and lingonberry. -
Voimainen honey
The crystallized Voimainen honey gets its soft texture from previous year's honey. The crystallization model is poured into the fresh honey, and the honey is stirred gently with a paddle for a few days.
When the honey starts to show a pearlescent sheen, it is ready to be jarred. After jarring, the honey is allowed to crystallize peacefully into its final Voimainen form. -
10 years of experience
The beekeeper couple of Metsätupa has been keeping bees together for almost ten years.
It all started with a bee hive "borrowed" from a mother who was enthusiastic about bees and a beekeeping course. There are currently seven hives in the yard.
Both the bees and the honey are always handled calmly and with love, so that each jar contains the best possible honey.
